Kildare & Leighlin Diocese Diocesan Collection for our Retired Priests 23rd/24th May 2015. ‘Share in the Care’. Please give to those who have given a Lifetime. We are appealing for the support of parishioners across the diocese to help in providing an allowance to retired priests and to assist them with their accommodation and healthcare – there are currently 22, and this number will rise in the coming years. Priests of the Diocese are paid a set salary from the Priests Collection during the year with surplus monies from these collections going towards helping our retired priests. Unfortunately there are insufficient surplus monies at present to provide this assistance.
